'Daily Cares'

 Hello friendly bloggers,

Here is my OPAM for this month..  It's a UFO I've had sitting around for some years..  Unfortunately, I don't remember the creator of this lovely stitchery, so I've called it 'Daily Cares'.

I soaked the background in Parisian browning Essence and then once dryed I drawed out the pattern..
Instead of using only stitchery, I also used pastel pencils and coloured the design in.. I then put a fabric medium over the top and allowed it to dry over night..

To help stablize the material while stitching, I used a thin pellon and ironed it to the back of the block..

I also put the pellon on the boarders and backing to give it an all over, even feel too it.

To make sure everything sticks, I quilted the boarders and backing..

Sew it together and finished it off
with a zip..

And here is the finished project.. A 'Daily Cares' Cushion...

So what's next?  Still lots of material to use up from the cushion..  I have an idea...
Here is a sneak preview..

I hope you enjoyed looking at my OPAM for this month..  My next project is a bit of a challange, but exciting at the same time.. Please drop by again..Smile to you from,

"Oh Golly"

Hello to you with big smiles from me...
So good to see you drop by...

I thought I would tell you about my collection..Well actually, I have a few collections, but the one I'm going to show you is about GOLLIES...
I love Gollies..I love the way they look..Love the memories they hold..Love the different names..Love the big red lips and the big afro hair..

'Apron Babies'
So cute, I couldn't resist painting this Mammie..
A design from the talented Kerryanne from 'Woodberry Designs..

Every year my patch girls and I save our pennies for the crafts shows..  Cause who can resist a bargin or a new idea..
One of my favorite stores is 'The Craft Cubby'
That's where I buy my collection of Golly Pins..  I have one more to collect 'Pin 2', and then I have the lot..
I also brought 'Gollyville'.. A huge applique quilt, which is still in the packs... I am number 206 on the collectables list..

This painting came from a few appilque patterns I got from  'The Craft Cubby'..
It was my first experiance at folk-art and thought gollies were a good start..
I have so many Golly patterns, I'd be here for a long time putting up pics.  However, now that I'm doing the OPAM this year, I might actually pull out some patterns to do...
LOL, I've just finish a painting I started before Christmas last year...  It's a Jamie Mills-Price design 'Home Sweet Home'..  She has a site called 'Between The Vines'... Well worth having a look..  She has such beautiful designs..

Here are some more folk-art work I did, again designs from 'Woodberry Designs'

I hope you enjoyed my collections of Gollies..  From Me and my good friend Bobby the Golly, we would like to say "How we love ya" when you stop by.
Have an ace day..Take care and be safe.

Big Smiles To you From me,
